When a claim is accepted

After your claim has been assessed, we will write to let you know that it has been accepted and let you know the name and contact information for your TIO MAC case manager

Your recovery from your injuries is the first priority, therefore, medical and rehabilitation treatment benefits are usually the first to be approved. Your TIO MAC case manager will advise you of other benefits that may be available as your claim progresses.

It often takes some time for TIO MAC to receive all the necessary information about the accident and your injuries, particularly if the information is required from third parties.

If you have any concerns about accessing non-invasive treatment before all information has been received, please contact your TIO MAC case manager.

Benefit reductions and exclusions

The MAC Scheme legislation defines the entitlement to benefits and the circumstances where benefits may be reduced or excluded.

For example, if you were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident or if you were a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Information can be found here for benefit reductions and exclusions.

If you disagree with a decision about your claim, there are options for you to seek a review of the decision here.
